About Us
Environment America Research & Policy Center
Clean water to drink and clean air to breathe; healthy lakes and rivers that are safe for swimming and fishing; preserved open spaces; clean sources of energy that don’t pollute and never run out—all this should be the heritage we leave to future generations. Our staff research the issues, educate the public, and win tangible results.
About Us
Research
Investigating problems and crafting solutions.
Protecting the air we breathe. Every American should be able to breathe clean air. But smog pollution from power plants and vehicles puts the health of our children and families at risk. Our report, Danger in the Air, shone a light on the smoggiest cities and counties across the country, and recommended solutions for cleaning up our air.
Education
Educating the public and making our voices heard.
Restoring the Chesapeake Bay to health. Pollution from factory farms and rampant development creates a dead zone in the Chesapeake Bay every summer where wildlife cannot survive—but a new EPA cleanup plan will set tough limits on big polluters. Our staff in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland spoke to tens of thousands of people in the Chesapeake Bay area to build support for the plan, and are pushing state officials to join the EPA in enforcing strong pollution limits.
