Clean Car Communities

To slow global warming, we need to change what we drive. We’re calling for all new cars and trucks to be electric by 2035. We know our leaders in Washington, D.C., are going the wrong way on this issue. That’s why our Clean Car Communities campaign is paving the way for cities and states to lead the way for cleaner transportation.

Buy less, give more

We spent most of last year taking advantage of the time on our hands by organizing closets, sorting through cupboards and cleaning out garages and attics.

Why in the world would we just want to load our homes up with stuff again, especially when so much of it is made from pervasive plastic or other materials that threaten our air, water and wildlife?

Bridging the Climate Divide

Americans are already experiencing the effects of climate change, from stronger storms, to more frequent floods, to worsening wildfires and more. And yet, Congress remains gridlocked when it comes to climate action.
There’s a tragic irony at the heart of that gridlock: Many of the elected representatives in Washington, D.C. who oppose climate action represent the very communities that lie in the paths of the hurricanes, floods and wildfires being turbocharged by climate change.

America's Top Colleges for Renewable Energy

Alaska Environment Research and Policy Center

Every day, we see more heartbreaking evidence of the damage being done to our planet: climate change, plastic pollution, wildlife disappearing forever. But we also see the solutions all around us, practically begging us to adopt them: solar and wind power, more walkable and “bikeable” cities, reusing and repairing stuff instead of throwing it away, and on and on.
Alaska Environment Research and Policy Center's mission is to transform the power of our imaginations and our ideas into change that makes our world a greener and healthier place for all.

100% Renewable

For decades, we have had the power to harness clean, abundant energy from the sun and the wind. In 2022, it can be done more efficiently and cheaply than ever before. Yet, the United States is still producing, consuming and wasting energy in ways that do lasting damage to our environment and our health.

100% Renewable

We’re promoting a bold and clear vision of a greener, healthier world, one powered solely by clean, renewable energy. We’re also taking concrete steps right now that will bring us closer to the world we want to live in. Our 100% Renewable campaign is focused on the arenas in which we can make the most immediate progress, like states, cities, and college and university campuses.
