Yesterday, I drove to Rhode Island to tour the nation’s first offshore wind farm!
It was so great to meet lawmakers from New Hampshire and Maine who are learning about the potential to create clean energy by harnessing offshore wind in the Gulf of Maine, the professionals who will do the work to bring this clean energy resource to our shores, and the advocates and organizers building the political support for this important clean energy resource.
In addition to my 100% renewable energy hat, I wore a “YES” pin with wind turbines, left over from a campaign in support of offshore wind that I helped run in 2005 to build support for offshore wind in Massachusetts.
Environment America has long campaigned for offshore wind, releasing reports like Offshore Wind for America and working with states across the country to set goals to go big on offshore wind.
