New Report Reveals Massive Climate Changing Emissions for Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline

WASHINGTON -- A new report out today from environmental groups shows that the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline would, if approved, be responsible for at least 181 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) each year, comparable to the tailpipe emissions from more than 37.7 million cars or 51 coal-fired power plants.

Clean Cars Would Save Americans $234 Million on Thanksgiving Travel

As Americans prepare for one of the busiest travel holidays of the year, a new Environment America Reasearch & Policy Center report finds that more fuel efficient cars would save Americans roughly $234 million at the gas pump this Thanksgiving alone. The report was released as the Obama administration develops new fuel efficiency and global warming pollution standards for cars and light trucks.
